One of our fantastic ‘regulars’ (ninth time here) came to spend a “relaxing” six days with us after having played caregiver for some time. She graciously wrote us a synopsis of her stay in the Hideway. (Sept. 10-15, 2020)
“Stay here many times – never in this room – it has quickly become my favorite. The space, quietness, cozy. I love it.
Unaware I need to make reservations to hike in the RMNP area – ebb & flow as Marines say (I’m a momma of one) – adjust, adapt, overcome. No biggie.
*9/11 – Never Forget Hiked from Allenspark Trailhead into Wild Basin & up to Ouzel Lake. 10.3 miles – loved it.
*9/12 – Blessed to find a parking spot & hiked Lily Mountain, just past Lily Lake, mile marker 5-6, about 4 miles R/T with rock scrambling at end. It’s no joke! So worth it! Beautiful views.
*9/13 – What’s for breakfast? It smells yummy up here … just so ya know Juanita & Bill best team of two ever – table time is the best time. Green Chili Eggs, French Toast, SW Chicken, potatoes, Blueberry Pecan deliciousness. Yum!
Hiked across Hwy today – Wow – aspens are beautiful about a week or two early for change. Crossed Fox Creek – you must just sit & take it in for a minute or 20 – Went up to Rock & journeyed back home.
*9/14 – The Day – Twin Sisters Since I did not have a timed reservation I got to the trailhead before 6 a.m. – it was a bit dark but head lamps – KEY! The weather was absolutely perfect. The hike absolutely beautiful. One I will be doing again next year with my hubsters! BTW, Juanita packed me the best breakfast – just perfect to get through the hike!
Leaving early in a.m. to drive back home to MO – but we are booked now for next Sept. Much love to you Bill & Juanita. God’s blessings until we see each other again.”
Much love and many blessings to you, too, JG. And thank you for such a lovely writeup!!!
