Night before last, there was snow floating in the air before we headed to bed. There was an inch on the ground when we woke up – and it was snowing harder. Last night we guessed that we had gotten about eight inches of new snow. Today dawned bright, with a little wind. Of course … it was time to unload another rick of firewood from the truck, so we waited until the temperature had climbed to 30* and the gusts had let up. Bill swept off the van and truck so he could trade places with them. We got the wood in, cleaned up the mess on the floor before it’s time for guests to show up and … now it is beautiful and quiet outside. Mom called to tell us that the news report said Allenspark had gotten the most snow in the state: 7.5 inches. Don’t you just love it when the media confirms your thoughts!

PS – The road is absolutely dry and by the end of the day there will be no snow left in the parking lot. Did I mention that today’s guests were coming to go back-country skiing tomorrow – in all the new snow?
