The work crews have been busy this last week spraying ‘seed’ along all the repaired roadways. It should look really good when spring comes because we have been having two days of warmer, sunny weather, then a snow day – then more sunny days. We are hoping that with this weather pattern it will cut down on some of the expected spring flooding from our 190% of snowpack.
The roads are in good shape; they are still working on the river bottoms to get all the debris out before spring runoff.
This is the area our horses used to go to for winter pasture; we would release them here and they would wander many thousand acres back up in those trees. Boulder County has now purchased that as Open Space for people and no livestock is allowed. Go figure!
Just to the right of those trees, there was a bridge that we would walk over to hike in to check on the horses. It was barricaded on one side so they couldn’t get through. The flood took this bridge and we are pretty sure there won’t be another one here. Sigh…. At least they are trying to re-establish the pasture.
Thank you workers.
