We temporarily closed the Lodge on March 2, viewing that as the safest thing to do regarding the novel coronavirus known as COVID-19. Later in the month our Colorado Governor Polis officially shut down all short-term rentals and especially those in tourist areas such as ours. We have not been released yet, as our county has extended those orders. I have been remiss on keeping in touch regarding this.
We have weathered the virus well here and kept busy doing LOTS of chores which constantly keep getting pushed off for ‘lack of time’. I am sure a good many of you are doing the same thing! How many have discovered boxes ‘somewhere’ containing something you don’t even remember? I find I am now losing track of time.
Bill has continued to post on our Facebook page about all the winter storms we have dealt with; nothing really new there – except for the lack of need for snow shoveling so guests can get in. Made some of our days quite long, missing having people reading by the fire or helping me with a puzzle.
Yesterday, I baked cookies – just because I missed that so much and I find I make excuses to be in the kitchen. I have learned to make face masks, as that will be a requirement to re-opening. We have made plans to rearrange the dining room in hopes of keeping social distancing but still able to maintain our trademark family breakfasts.
So, more on how we will start back up as soon as we know.
Stay healthy and keep safe!
