Moose in the Backyard

It’s been a really, really busy summer – but we have enjoyed lots of animal sightings, and several in our own backyard. About a month ago, I was going after Reba in the back, thinking she was chasing a rabbit. The rabbit turned out to be a small black bear. A couple of weeks later,

It’s been a couple years since we have seen elk really close to the Lodge – or even in the vicinity. Moose moved over from the western slope about the same time the elk started disappearing. Don’t get me wrong; moose are pretty majestic to look at, but not nearly as user-friendly, as in “never

Just finished up a quilter’s retreat and the beautiful pieces were astounding. This was one of the more traditional ones. It took a lot of sewing machines and ironing boards; with plenty of people doing lots of handwork such as embroidery and appliques. Here are some more samples. We are

Reba – the New Lodge Dog

It’s time to introduce our new staff member – Reba, the lodge dog. We had to give up Sophie last November at the age of 14. We had struggled with seizures with her for more than a year, but when it was apparent we could no longer keep her comfortable, we made the difficult decision
